Celebrity Big Brother

It's almost that time of year again... When we become glued to our tellies, watching a gaggle of celebs living under one, happy roof in Celebrity Big Brother.

The Archbishop Of York has revealed that he was asked to appear on Celebrity Big Brother, but refused.Archbishop Sentamu's spokesman, Arun Arora, said that he took a call from the show's producers in October, but told them: "We don't do celebrity."

Show number 5 begins tonight when we shall discover which celebrities are to be shut up for a month or so in the specially created house with its myriad of cameras which can show the public everything that goes on there 24 hours a day. The public will out contestants by popularity polls until only the winner is left.

You either love or hate Big Brother shows. I love them and finding people watching both entertaining and educational. My minority opinion is that what we see on the screen is only a reflection of what goes on in any enclosed community including this one. Group dynamics are no different because the context or the degree of tolerance vary.

Let battle commence...... and may the best man, or woman, win.
