Mary Garden

I have had a day silence and solitude at Madonna House ( Mary's House), Robin Hoods Bay.
The garden there is large and diverse but a special area with a statue of Mary alone, with open welcoming hands and smiling face, stood in a small wooden hermitage on a stand, is labelled "Mary Garden". To one side of her is a tree with a plant below called "Maltese Cross(Lychuis)" and alongside "Lady's Tears(Tradescantia)". There are a whole host of other flowers with a dominant colour of blue including bluebells and geranium(Magnificum) and rosemary. Both rambler and climbing roses are included.

Thoughts and meditations have been in tune too around the writings of Saint Louis de Montfort on "True Devotion to Mary" but more of that another day on his feast day this coming Saturday.
Vatican II described Mary as "Mother of the Church and Mother of us all". The gospel basis for a personalisation of this relationship lies in the wedding at Cana "Do whatever he tells you to do" and Mary with John at the foot of the Cross "This is your son...This is your mother".
