IT WENT down extremely well when the Revd Jeremy Frost, Precentor in Canterbury Cathedral, gave packets of Anglican Fudge to fellow members of the Chapter at Christmas.
Looking very professional , it was made by his mother, Jennifer Frost, in Lichfield, who used to teach in a catering college, and tells me that she has been making fudge for charity for years. She also makes fudge and marzipan fruits “in nice bowls” for special occasions such as weddings, as she did for the wedding of her daughter, “who is a missionary in Uganda and has no money at all”.
But the marzipan fruits and fudge have proved very popular at Christmas, and her son is urging her to develop a website so that she can offer them more widely. She tells me, however, that she has a lot of joy in doing it on a small scale, and doesn’t want to go into business, although Anglican Fudge sounds as though it could be a very popular and aptly named brand.
