Bishop Andrew of Ebbsfleet tells me that, a little while back and somewhat informally, he told some of his priests that it was highly likely that the House of Bishops would be considering the Manchester Report and suggested that they might like to mark the day with special masses, intercessions, vigils and the like. The idea has since snowballed and I am delighted to commend it to you.
We do not as yet know the precise day or days to be devoted by the House of Bishops to discussing the Report during the May meeting. Nevertheless, to make 19th May a day of special prayer for this intention strikes me as eminently wise and desirable.
I warmly commend it to you and especially ask you to mention it to colleagues who may not have access to e-mail.
