Sight Unseen: The Unseen Ayckbourn Guide is a new book by Alan Ayckbourn’s archivist, Simon Murgatroyd. It looks at concepts and ideas for plays, unpublished and unproduced plays, alternative versions and titles, screenplay concepts, early writing and rarely seen Ayckbourn plays such as his very first play The Square Cat.

The book has more than 100 entries ranging from Alan’s first play written at school to his latest play My Wonderful Day, with practically every subject accompanied with quotes from Alan Ayckbourn as well as extracts from a number of the plays.

Although available on the internet, Sight Unseen is being sold exclusively offline at the Stephen Joseph Theatre Shop. It costs £7 with all proceeds from the book going towards the theatre
