GP Taylor to convert

GP Taylor defects to church of Rome

Published Date: 06 November 2009 Yorkshire Post
BEST-selling author and Anglican priest GP Taylor is converting to
Roman Catholicism, condemning the Church of England
as "the spiritual
arm of New Labour".
Writing exclusively
in the Yorkshire
Post today, Mr Taylor accuses the Church
of disgracing the arguments of the Bible, and some
of its bishops of
replacing Christian teaching
with "beliefs more acceptable to our derelict society".

The former vicar
of Cloughton, who self-published his
first book
Shadowmancer
which later became
an international bestseller, was
also
a policeman and
has been frank
about his own less-than-
spiritual failings
prior to his
conversion to Christianity.

The 51-year-old
was ordained
after
his return to
Yorkshire
following
a period living
in London, working
in the record
industry.

Mr Taylor, of Scarborough,
writes: "The
Church
I once loved has,
on the whole,
become the
spiritual arm of
New Labour.
What
the rank and file believes is truly not the same as the leadership. Bishops charged by God to
to fight against erroneous teachings appear to embrace them gleefully."

The Roman
Catholic church,
on the other hand, "doesn't seem to
be afraid to stand
up for important
moral issues".

No hope, no love,
no grace:

The former Anglican Vicar and Exorcist should be honest about his opinions and admit he is jumping ship in order to sell his books. He traded on his title for long enough. I dare say having won over the Christian book market he is aiming higher at the secular market. Mr Taylor should admit his faith is somewhat dubious, if one is a former exorcist he should fully understand his purpose is to serve Christ the Lord and not pursue the love of money. He is no longer an Anglican Vicar or an Exorcist, he is a millionaire writer and his priorities now belong elsewhere. Sadly, no longer on the Christian book shelfs. In the past he has expressed outspoken views on this and that, infact anything that will buy him media attention. He is a man that will enter into business discussions with all types and anytimes even those in exile for rape etc etc. I think the Anglican community can breathe a sigh of relief and pray for the Catholic community. He is a loaded cannon. Over the top and one out for personal gain, fame and fortune.
