Pope urges priests to use new technology

POPE BENEDICT XVI has urged priests to use new media and digital technology to help them

proclaim the gospel. Releasing his message for World Communications Day, Sunday 16 May, the

Pope said: “Priests stand at the threshold of a new era,” and were called to use new media “ever

more effectively at the service of the Word”. He challenged priests to “proclaim the gospel by

employing the new generation of audiovisual resources” such as videos, blogs, and websites.
